Engineered right here in the USA, the new Sargent & Greenleaf 2740-400 High-Security lock is the first domestically produced safe and container lock approved by the US Government for the protection of classified and national security information. The 2740 also installs faster, and with less complexity than any other high-security combination lock meeting Federal Specification FF-L-2740B. With no cables to tangle with, an instant power up, and a code change process similar to the 4,3,2,1 method of the decades successful S&G 8550 and 2937 combination locks, security officers will find the S&G 2740 both easy to operate and install. An innovative bright white, and high contract display design, lets you operate the lock with ease in a dark hallway, or settings where there is low-light. Since the lock is battery-operated you will need to watch for the low battery warning which occurs when there is roughly 100 uses remaining. Depending on how much use your 2740 receives however, this typically will be rare, as you can get up to 10 years of battery life. Should the batteries lose their power before you were able to catch it though, you won’t be locked out, as the lock does fail open.
