Would Keyless Locks Have Prevented Sexual Assault at Dartmouth University?

A columnist at Valley News believes Dartmouth University could’ve prevented sexual assault on campus with keyless locks. Valley News is a news source from the Upper Valley inWest Lebanon, NH. They are the local news source for communities surrounding Dartmouth University.

Valley News has been covering a rape trial that was recently acquitted in March 2014. The sexual assault occurred in one of the newly built dorm facilities.

GoKeyless was recently mentioned as a source in the article discussing the many advantages of using keyless entry for university dorm residents. It is a passionate argument for future safety enhancements that university should have made in 2006 when the facilities were built. The project costing $41.4 million has people questioning construction planning: “I wonder if Dartmouth wishes it had spent a little less on elements that reflect the college’s “traditional Georgian architecture” and a little more on security.” says Jim Kenyon.

Valley News interviewed our Marketing Director, Trent Bamberry, as they researched the benefits and costs of keyless locks. The article was written with a sense of frustration that this event could of even occurred. The author provided solutions that would hopefully make their way to Dartmouth administrators for future security enhancements.
